October Update

I figured it might be a good idea to document our October happenings before Thanksgiving goes as quickly as it's coming.

Though we were incredibly busy with finalizing business and building matters, I made sure we didn't miss out on some fall fun.

Homestead Elementary hosted a fall festival at the school. We got there pretty late, but the babies seemed to have enough fun playing in the bubbles to notice.

There is a small town about 30 minutes from Crossville called Allardt. They have a water tower in town that reads "Home of the Giant Pumpkins." And they aren't lying. They hold a big pumpkin festival each year, so we decided to check it out. It was abnormally warm that day, but thankfully there were plenty of trees around to provide some much needed shade.

I have helping out with the youth group at our church and lead a small group for 9th and 10th grade girls. They are so much fun, and I feel like they keep me young. Over their fall break, I hosted a little slumber party for them. We had a great time, painted nails, practiced cheerleading and karate moves, and stayed up way too late. And the next morning, I remember how old I was. My body is not made to stay up past midnight, and it took me a few days to recover. But worth every bit of it! I am completely humbled and grateful to get to watch them grow and see how the Lord is moving in each of their lives.

Our trip to Allardt didn't quelch my need for pumpkin activities, so on another weekend we spent an afternoon at Autumn Acres. They have a bunch of activities there for the kids to do, including a tractor ride to a pumpkin patch, where you can pick your own pumpkin literally off the vine. The Siscos joined us, which makes any adventure that much more fun!

Bring on Thanksgiving (even though I have already put up the Christmas tree)....

Plateau Family Dentistry

This post has been a long time coming...

At least 4 years in the making.

When Kyle and I first started dating, he  made it very clear what his goals were. He eventually wanted to open his own practice. In Crossville. Quite honestly, I really never thought we would end up here. I may have secretly wished that he would look for an opportunity he couldn't turn down in Memphis. And as we have seen so many times in our marriage already, the Lord knew what He was doing.

So we made the move. With no firm plans. And the Lord, once again, has been faithful to us. More faithful than we could have ever imagined or prayed big enough for.

In July, we broke ground on the future home of Plateau Family Dentistry. It has been a very fast-paced four months. I was a little skeptical that this project would be completed so quickly, but our fabulous builder Frank Cooper and his crew made it happen! They are gems! Genuinely wonderful people and a joy to be around. Always having our best interest in mind and our happiness on the forefront. I can't say enough to praise and brag on these men and the subs they used.

There are so many people to thank for helping make our dreams a reality, and there will be another post dedicated to just that. But for now, here are some pictures documenting where we started and how we ended.
