Day Maker
Usually every day I can find something that lightens the load of the routine-ness of going to work, coming home, making dinner, going to bed. Whether it be something funny a patient says or does, a good story about one of Kyle's crazy patients, or making a fool of myself at work when I run into the same table, everyday. That's another story.
Today, it was this sweet face. Actually, these sweet faces...
The hot momma on the right is my dearest and oldest friend, Kati. And cheeks there to the left is her 3 month old daughter, Abbi. Kati and I became friends when were 10 years old. Kati's family had moved to Collierville about two weeks before my family did and we ended up in the same 5th grade class. While my mom and I were riding our bikes home from school not too long after moving there, Kati's mom Sami almost hit me with her truck. That was until Kati yelled out, "Hey, that girl is in my class!" Haha. They're house was situated in the cove behind our house. Our moms became instant friends, as did Kati and I. And as they say, the rest is history. 15 years later, we have both been in each others' weddings and now I like to consider myself an aunt.
Kati was about 8 months pregnant with Abbi during the time of my wedding, and Abbi came into this world just as precious as she could be on July 18. And I still haven't gotten to hold that sweet thing in my arms. You see, Patrick (Kati's baby's daddy...ok and husband too), is pretty much Maverick (think Top Gun). They live in Wichita Falls, Texas. WAY too far away if you ask me. I miss them. But it's days like today and long Skype dates with baby and mommy that make up for the distance.

Same Song, Different Verse
Once again, this weekend we had a wedding to go to. (I love weddings, so in no way is that a coplaint) We'll get to that....
Friday night, we went to the movies with the Siscos. We haven't been to the movies in I can't tell you how long. It's nice to feel like we are finally getting settled and catching back up with things.
We saw Life As We Know It.Wonderful movie. I laughed. I cried. I laughed some more. I cried some more. Kyle enjoyed it, but then again he enjoys chick flicks (I'm sure he'll appreciate me telling secrets on him). Including some Ben and Jerry's afterward made for a nice little date night.
Saturday, I finally got a haircut. It has been almost a year!!!! When Kyle and I got engaged, my hair was pretty short. I refused to cut it until after the wedding in fear of it not being long enough to do anything with. So now my hair is split-end free and ready to grow some more. Mom and I ran a few errands afterward, including picking up my car from the dealership with a $1,900 list of things that need to be fixed now, and if not, in the near future. Just what I wanted to hear. Especially since Kyle just got four new tires for his truck. C'est la vie, I suppose.
I finally got around to getting our office organized to where there is not a million things in boxes, plastic bins, etc all over the floor. One more thing to mark off my list. My long, never-ending list. I swear, by the time I get this place to feel like our home, it's going to be time to leave.
Saturday night, we went to Brandon and Caroline's wedding. Kyle and Brandon were in dental school together, and Caroline and I became friends through a weekly Bible study. Their wedding was beautiful. From her bridesmaids dresses, to the flowers, to the ceremony and Scripture read, everything was wonderful. Here is a picture of me and the beautiful bride.
And here is a picture of my handsome man and me.Since my computer has died and I am using Kyle's (that has no editing program), please excuse the red eye. And the washed out face of mine, I won't blame the camera for. I am sworn off the tanning bed, and now I look ill. I'm not sure how long I can take this.
And just like last weekend, Kyle headed back to Crossville. He has an appointment with a dentist in Cookeville on Monday. Since I have to work, I got left behind :( As much fun as we have had these past few weekends, I am ready for a weekend of nothing-ness. Nowhere to be. No one to meet up with. No schedule. And if you know me, you know I love a schedule.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Wedding In The Woods
This past weekend Kyle and I headed back to Crossville. We left Thursday night and spent the night at his parents' and then drove to Gatlinburg Friday afternoon for Frank and Jasmine's wedding. Frank is one of Kyle's best buds from dental school. Their wedding was held outside of a little mountainside chapel. The weather could not have been more perfect for an outdoor wedding.
We got to spend time with the Shanks, Johnny and Portia. This is Johnny. The one from Big Lick. Portia, that shout out is for you because I know how much yall loved the first :) In all seriousness, Johnny is one of Kyle's oldest and best friends, and the source of all the good stories from Kyle's childhood. Johnny and Portia just had a baby. We love them and sweet Brady.
Then there's the Greives. Brad is another one of Kyle's close dental school buds. It's pretty funny when they stand next to each other. Kyle is about 5'9 (he'll tell you 5'10) and Brad is TALL! This family cracks me up. They are definitely the life of the party and so much fun to be around. Wife Stacy is to the left and their 8 year old daughter Kaylee Bell to the right. She's got some good dance moves and if you watch the videos below, you'll see it runs in the family. Haha. Brad...Stacy....If you somehow come across this blog, I apologize. But it's just too good not to post.

Dental school buds with the groom (Frank the groom is second from the right).
